My mom and I were at the dollar store and the carts have a pole so you can’t take them out of the store, when walking outside the door I noticed a lady trying to get the cart out the door so I went back knowing the cart had to stay inside and I asked if she would like help with carrying her things to the car. As I helped the lady with her items she thanked me numerous times and was very grateful. This made me feel like I was a good person for helping her because if I just let her struggle to get her things to the car I wouldn’t have been able to stop regretting it. This kind deed made me want to do more kind deeds for people, looking for nothing in return but the gratefulness of them. Another act outside of Sandia that I did was throw away used plates at a BBQ once I knew they were done. When I saw they had finished eating I asked, “Are you guys done? Can I take your plates for you?” At first they were hesitant, not wanting me to have to pick up after them, but I ensured them that it was no big deal. When I got up to throw the plates both my cousin and her boyfriend were grateful and told me thank you many times. I was glad that I could throw their trash so that they could enjoy being outside. Doing this deed made me want to become less shy so that it is easier for me to do things like that on a daily basis and without
