Personal Narrative: Clarkson College

For all of my life, building close relationships has been the key to my success. I form relationships successfully in a small, comfortable setting. In school, classrooms are an accessible way for myself to accomplish this with my teacher. For every teacher I was close to, the class I had with them was my top class. One of the main reasons I chose Clarkson College was because I admired it was a private college with a limited student to teacher ratio. I flourish in modest environments similar to a high school classroom where I can focus on bonding with my instructor and the students. Clarkson College was the perfect fit.
Secondly, another reason why I chose Clarkson College, was because of the close proximity to my home. I reside in Lincoln, Nebraska and while I wanted to move away from home and be a little freer, I still wanted to be close. As a result, Clarkson College was the perfect option to still be close to family, while also living on my own.
Additionally, Clarkson College also interested me in their Campus Crusade. My faith has always been an influential part of my life and when I found out Clarkson had Campus Crusade, I was furtherly excited and interested.

When I came to Clarkson, I fell in love with all the friendly faces and incredible opportunities they offer here. One of the qualities that stood out the greatest was the friendly faces. As a student ambassador, it is absolutely important to be welcoming and approachable. I believe I have both of those qualities. I am always up for meeting new people and giving them my full attention. Without a doubt, it is deeply essential that we help influence people to feel comfortable. I will promote this by creating a connection and accustom myself with the individual, but also allowing them to talk and ask plenty of questions. This way we can deliver as much information possible about Clarkson

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

I do not want to disappoint them or myself, I want to be on the graduation stage with my hand grasping that master degree. About me, others describe me as opinioned, stubborn and independent. Although I do not want to admit it, these traits all apply to me. Opinioned doesn’t sound as an appealing word to me I should say I like for people to understand my views completely also I don’t mind if someone does not agree with me, it just adds more depth to the discussion.…

At Xavier University we believe in the “All for One and One for All” philosophy; showing that camaraderie and equality among all are still possible. One way Xavier lives up to its support for students is through the one-year long Smooth Transition mentoring program. I served as a smooth transition mentor to three incoming first-year students during the 2016-2017 academic year. In order to ensure that they have a successful first year at Xavier, I informed them about the resources Xavier University provides, including the writing center, mathematics lab, tutoring services, Ohio link, and much more. I also advised them to make good decisions and form relationships with people who would motivate them to succeed.…
