Personal Narrative-Angevine Middle School

Angevine Middle School in Lafayette. The school is very large. One side of the hallway is lockers and the other side is a window. The classroom my group has their activities is in the Special Education room. The room has big windows, Christmas lights, colorful pictures and other things that are visually appealing. The desks and chairs in this room are unlike a typical classroom. There are a variety of desks. Some students can stand at; others have elastic bands on the bottom where the students can place their feet. There are a variety of chairs and stools. The students in the classroom could pick their choice of seat and desk. After the after school recess, eight boys entered the classroom to begin their study hall. James did not look up. Mark began talking loud, Grace walked over to him and said, “Please be respectful of the other dreamers.”
Chris then said, “How much longer Miss [Grace]?”
Grace said, “15 more minutes and then we can play 8 Ball Pool.”
Chris said, “10 more minutes?”
Grace said, “14 minutes.”
Mark said, “I think 12 would work?”
Grace agreed, “Ok 12 more minutes and then we can do classroom bounding.”
I looked at James who was looking at Chris and said, “Let’s try to read two more sections and then we can do the classroom activity.”
James nodded.
The next section was shorter, so I asked James, “Do you want to read this one out loud or to yourself?”
Looking at the paper, James responded, “To myself.”
James and I both read the section of Religion in the Enlightenment to ourselves. We talked about what we thought we important aspects of this section. About two minutes into our discussion on religion, Chris said, “Miss [Grace] how much more time now.”
Grace said, “Is three more minutes enough for everyone?”
All eight students looked at Grace when she started to talk. Mark responded, “We only need two.”
As Mark finished the statement, the IHAD coordinator walked in and Grace looked at the clock. She
