As we attempt to gain meaningful dialogue, one could only imagine where the conversation was headed. Even though in life we hold conversations on a daily basis, the thought of actually taking a specific question or questions and intently dwelling on them was a task in and of itself. I have always heard in a number of classes in order to be a good communicator you must first be a good listener. I pondered for a moment what would constitute a good listener. To me a good listener would be one who pays attention to detail. They stay focused on giving the communicator their undivided attention. A good listener has the ability to relay key points back to the communicator while elaborating on the issue at hand. To me these key factors

As we conversed about a lot of different ways to create change, I realized what better way to start than to start with myself. Understanding that I do not have the ability to change other but I do have the ability to change myself as a leading example for others to admire. Each and everyday something about us changes whether it is for the good or bad we change. The changes may be big or small but no matter the change it has a profound effect on our lives. When we are willing to accept change; we are willing to accept responsibility and accept ourselves for who we are. Looking at an ever evolving world; one that has transcended through some of the toughest times to an evolutionary technological empire that still has more problems than before. With all the turmoil, hatred, and killing one could only wonder when will change ever come? In the deepest of my heart looking back to the 2008 presidential election when Barack Obama became the 44th president and the lyrics of Sam Cooke resonate through my head “ it’s been a long time coming, but I know a change gonna come.” Change is evident and we must embrace positive change every chance we get because tomorrow is not promised to
