Personal Narrative: An Interview

Pat,

It was great to meet you at Granite City, and it was so funny that you recognized me from Facebook pictures! I hope your snowman is doing well, although I doubt it survived this long (the one that my girlfriend and I made is long gone). I’m reaching out because I’m actually looking to work with folks in the tech industry as I help continue to build our team’s practice, and would love your advice, and also to see if there is anything I could do to help you in my role as a financial advisor. Would there be a time and place that would work for you to meet for coffee?

Sincerely,

The speaker from PreMedical Ms.Schnarre, I was not interested in any of the things that this major had to offer. I have never been interested in PreMedical. Will probably not want to pursue any kind of job in this of work. Even though the opportunities seem interesting, the money was with my interest. I would not want to take a different direction that I am already headed.…

When I was younger, I always kept a book by me. Books accompanied me everywhere, to the mall and to my relatives houses. I was called a bookworm, and still called it today. I’ve read books, and collected them. I have over 100 books in my room, and have a library in my house.…

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

In choosing this topic for my Take the Challenge project, I didn’t realize how much I would experience my topic. I’m Michaela La Vonne Dimick. I am 16 years old, and I have depression. If anyone has looked at a brightly colored image, and then looked at a black-and-white version of that image, then he or she would notice that he or she observes more detail in the black and white photo. Depression is like this.…

I grew up quickly last year and realized that I don't get to control the consequences of my actions. One of the other big things I learned as well is that I don't get to choose the consequences of other people's actions either. I learned things about myself that I'm glad I know but it was difficult for me to come to terms with until I had n choice but to face the deepest and darkest fears in my life. I Learned what it meant to be a grown up…
