I was so excited!
"Yes, I did it!" I yelled out in my head.
I had worked so hard for this. The other girls were the best in the school, and I was on their team! I was as happy as a clam. I was on top of the world.
Then, in the blink of an eye, I was on the bottom of the ocean. All of the other girls were best friends. They all had sleepovers together every night. Meanwhile, I was at home practicing to make sure I stayed on the team.

I wanted more than anything to get the ball. I didn't want to be stressed out or tired. I needed to be focused.
When I woke up, I played out in my head what could happen and what I would do. I watched games while I stretched. I wanted to win. I needed to win.
I waited for that clock to hit 12:00. Our game was at 1:00 and we needed to be there at 12:30. My worries were growing higher and higher as each minute passes by.
It was it was 11:30 and I couldn't wait any longer. I got in my uniform, did my hair, put my cleats on and grabbed a protein bar. I was ready to go. I grabbed my phone as my parents and I walked to the car.
Every soccer game I have ever had, I have always listened to music to calm me down on the way there. My headphones are so worn out that they are falling apart. We pull into the parking lot and I take a deep breath. "Ahh." It’s game time.
