Personal Narrative: A Career In The Army

I have been employed and retired from the Army. During my career I have held numerous positions, gaining executive-level experience within this organization. Most recently I served as a Faculty Instructor and Course Director at the US Army War College. This institution prepares selected military, civilian, and international leaders for the responsibilities of strategic leadership, educates current and future leaders on the development and employment of land-power in a joint, multinational and interagency environment, it conducts research and publishes material on national security and military strategy. I researched, developed, wrote, and executed a graduate level course for over 350 US Service members, civilians and International Fellows annually. …show more content…
Before this assignment, I served on the Army Staff as an Action Officer, in The Pentagon (2009-2013), Action Officers shape information and submit recommendations to senior decision makers, that when approved become decisions. I was responsible for managing requirements and authorizations for all Army National Guard support organizations, to include all professional development schools and State Headquarters. I also provided support, analysis and recommendations for the Total Army Analysis, the Assistant Secretary of the Army's Operational Reserve Report and RAND Studies. The RAND Corporation is a Think Tank that helps improve policy and decisionmaking through research and analysis. RAND focuses on the issues that matter most such as health, education, national security, international affairs, law and business, the environment, and more. Earlier, I served as the Commander for over 400 US-NATO Troops in Bosnia and Kosovo (2008-2009), I provided operational and administrative control and was responsible for manning, good order and discipline, morale, quality of life and training as well as timely and accurate support to the chain of
