Personal Narrative: 3 Days Minus

Improved Essays
3 Days Minus 2 I woke up to a loud, metal sliding noise and quickly came to my senses. At first I thought “Where the hell am I?”, but then it all came together. I looked around the room to see 12 people either disoriented or still asleep. The lady in the uniform called out “Jude, lets go”. I got to my feet and that’s when I first noticed I felt like I was about to puke. I felt like my head was about to explode and when I went to rub it, I noticed my arm was absolutely shredded. It looked like I had run my right hand across barbed wire. “Here you go sir, looks like he had a rough night”, said the lady. When I saw my dad’s face, I knew I was in some deep trouble. Nobody wants to drive 5 hours to pick up their son from the drunk tank. …show more content…
It was a beautiful summer night and my friends had all just come back from their respective colleges. We were all sitting on his patio drinking some beers telling our stories from our freshman year. Out of my friend group, 4/5 of us go to large state schools and it seemed that all of our stories were making Ted (community college) jealous of our time. Looking to make up for his lost partying, he proposed a great idea saying we should head up to Bethany Beach, DE for the weekend. At first, we thought this was another one of the great ideas we always came up with which would immediately be forgotten in the morning, but sure enough we received a group text from Ted the next morning with a picture of his parents beach house keys. I guess it was official, the old squad was finally going on a trip together. All of Thursday afternoon was spent packing and just imagining how fun this vacation was going to be. We’ve all been friend’s sine elementary school, yet this was the first real vacation we as a group have been on. Also, this was my first time going to the beach without my parents so in my head, I knew there was going to be some debauchery awaiting. I made sure to get a good night’s rest because tomorrow was going to be a long day. Never did I know what was in store for

Wondering why Taylor, a fellow Marine, did not meet up for our scheduled motorcycle ride, I went to his barracks room to see if he was okay. Losing someone you watched suffer in their last days on earth doesn’t feel anything like losing a friend that was your age who had their whole life ahead of them, and losing both in less than a 2 month span doesn’t help either. The year of 2013 wasn’t the best year for me nor any of my classmates. For me it actually started when I was in the seventh grade, my mom received the rights to take care of my ill grandfather (her father). Turns out he was suffering from early age dementia; caused from drinking at an early age which happened to be 12.…

Friday Mornings I rushed my full stomach to my room and I pulled out the bottom of my semi formal clothings and pants drawer. Being the control freak that I am, I also picked out my brother’s outfit. My mother was kind enough to let me select my own outfit to school as a second grader. Enrolled in a small, private, and conservative Christian school, where the moms are very in everyone’s business; not many of my friends were allowed to pick out their “free friday” outfits. Although now, I wish my mother would restrict some of the things I wore.…

Last Thursday I had a chance to play on one of my friends flag football team called “ Back to Back”. The game started at eight pm, so got there a minute after eight. The first thing I noticed while playing Flag football was how different it was from regular football. I played regular ball for about ten years and it felt a whole lot easier than flag. Refraining from creating contact is way harder than how it sounds.…

Thousands of thoughts raced through my mind.........figuring out what to do. My idea so far was *run up the stairs and try to "distract"the being, then pull the door shut and then lock it* it sounded cliche in my head, but i figured I didn't have any other choice but to die otherwise. So I set my plan into action. I quietly stepped up the unstable wooden planks of the slanted hallway towards the open door.…
