I always had a good time when I went to my First Year Seminar class. The topic was interesting, and everyone could relate to it in some way or another. It wasn’t just about sex, but also about love. I got to write about my own personal love experience at the very beginning of the semester, and I feel like it was my best paper. It really set the mood for the remainder of the class. While some of the papers were hard to begin, it was always interesting to see what new thoughts and ideas would come into my head while writing a paper. I never thought that I would be arguing about different views of sex, but in this class I did and it was really challenging, yet fun. Everyone has different views and that is okay. It is hard to change a person’s perspective on something, especially at the age of college students, but it is nice to know that I can argue my point and that people can understand where I am coming from, even if they don’t agree with me. I do believe that I should have been in the 112 section instead of 111, but I did not feel like taking the placement test. However, I am very glad I was in the 111 section, because it was a great experience. Through peer revision workshops, pre-paper planning, and the quality and enjoyment of the class, I feel like my writing has improved. While I know there is still room for improvement, I really feel like I grew as a writer. I really enjoyed my semester in First Year Seminar: Sex, Love, and Lust, and I can’t wait for what next semester First Year Seminar
