My three job categories were C(Conventional), E(Enterprising), and S(Social). All of which are a perfect fit for me. The conventional aspect relates to me enjoying work that has well defined instructions and systemic activities like maintaining and manipulating data or numerical activities. The Enterprising aspect relates to my assertive nature that usually lands me in leadership roles. The Social aspect relates to my interpersonal skills that allow me to be great at counseling others. I used these job categories to search O-net Online to see what types of careers I may be best suited for which is where Personal Financial Advising is a perfect fit amongst my strengths. While researching Personal Financial Advisors on the Bureau of Labor Statistics website it caught my attention that the job outlook which is the projected percent change in employment from 2014 to 2024 is thirty percent for this career. I’m pursuing a Business degree which fits right into preferred degrees for this career. Other degrees I could consider would be finance, accounting, or even law and still pursue the same career. A couple of local schools that offer a Bachelor’s of Applied Science are Middle Georgia State University and Georgia College and State University although I have my sights set on obtaining my degree from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Financially I am in great shape of being able to obtain the necessary education requirements to achieve my career goal without paying anything at all thanks to my employer. My employer offers Tuition Reimbursement if you are working towards a degree in Business as a part of their employee benefit package. I foresee reaching my career goal taking about three to five years at most to complete making it a long range short term goal.
