Especially, in childhood, people imagine what their future houses will be, how big they are, what they are made of or how beautiful and adventurous they are. I also imagine and am still dreaming about what my future house would be. I am going to describe about my dream house. My dream house is a three-story house with a pointed roof. The third floor is an attic which just below the pointed roof. One side of the wall is a large window which the moonlight streams into the attic, so I can be bathed in the moonlight at night. Since I like to read books, there are bookshelves which look like the bookshelves from the movie Beauty and Beast in my study room. Each bookshelf is crammed with books which I collect in my whole life. Especially, the Harry Potter series, my favorites, are shelved in the middle of the bookshelf. My dressing room is neat and tidy, so I can dress up depending on my mood. Also, there are a living room and a dining room on the first floor. The big and comfortable sofas are in front of a television and beside sofas there is an authentic tea table where my family sits together and has an everyday conversation. The dining room and the kitchen are clean as a whistle and the floor was tiled in squares of black marble, which makes the dining room an exclusive restaurant. Moreover, I can hold a barbeque party in my backyard. There is a hammock hanging between tress in the backyard, so in summer, I can read a book there. The house feels warm and safe as my family live harmoniously and peacefully. Sometimes, I imagine and dream about my future house. I walk my house and arrange furniture in my …show more content…
However, although films are originated from books, there are differences between books and films as they have different characteristics. Firstly, the level of narration in the books and films are different. The various levels of narrations are used to describe stories or scenes in the book. In the book, readers can know what characters are thinking and talking and how they feel, which means books are told from the first person viewpoint, the third person view point and the omniscient viewpoint. On the other hand, films use narrators, but films can describe stories without a narrator as films can describe the scene by visual effect. Audience can see a character’s feeling or what is happening through visual images such as actors’ faces or backgrounds. Secondly, books encourage readers to imagine the background, characters’ appearances and every event in the book while films just show the image which a director created and imagined. People can illustrate the stories in their mind and give full scope to their imagination. They can express characters and background as they want. In contrast, people only watch the visual images on the screen. Audiences cannot image the background or characters because these are already made and set. Audiences see what a director wants to show and audiences feel what a director depicts. Thirdly, the time limitation is different. There is no time limitation on

Throughout my life, I have been the victim of several burglaries. At the age of seven, someone, in broad daylight, broke into our house and shot my dad in the chin. I was displaced to my aunt's house for weeks and missed most of my 1st grade year. When I was seventeen, I walked in on my home being robbed by some local kids. They were upstairs when I came into the house and escaped through a window, but the idea that I could have come home earlier still haunts me.…

Often movies are made out of blockbuster books. Sometimes the movies do a good job of capturing the most important moments from the book and presenting them in the movie. Unfortunately, some movies do not always accurately depict the books they represent with full details. There are many reasons why a movie depiction of a book fails not least of which is because they are only given a couple of hours to tell the whole story in the book. A book is able to go in depth with the character’s emotions and experiences while a movie based on the book is limited by the length of the film.…

Instead of where in the book where it takes a page to describe how hot the fire is and how dangerous it is to go near it. The last reason is, that some people like to see the character’s appearances, it takes a chapter to describe all of the characters appearances, in the movie it only takes a second. In the movie all you have to do is look at the characters to know what their features are. In shorter words, some people probably just don’t want to take the time to read a book, when they know they could just watch the movie…

In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…

“Lame…” is what I thought to myself once I finished watching the movie “The Maze Runner.” In my opinion, I thought that The Maze Runner book was way better than the movie. When I read the book, I believe I was a sophomore in Ms. Brown’s class and I shockingly liked the book. The reason why I say shockingly is because I never read books and when I do, I rarely like them. After we read the book we watched the movie, and I thought that it was a real disappointment.…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…

Movies convey their emotions by hearing and by the picture, thanks to the great sound and visual effects the details seem more real. However, a movie projects one main picture that can be somehow limiting to the spectator, who, will not think any further to what is depicted on the screen. Books, on the other hand, are more often than not, visually boring and not as attractive. Nevertheless, books are not just bunch of letters and words, books make the reader capable of expanding their imagining capacities. My most valuable possession was my house. It wasn’t anything fancy or exquisite, but it was there that I had spent the precious moments, however few, with my beloved dad. I remember that we would spend hours playing, running around the arched, brightly lit corridors. On either side, I recall the large mahogany doors which would fluidly open to reveal ancient, chestnut-brown rooms with antique, twin bed frames which were confined within. I will never forget the uncanny gargoyles that were suspended onto the wall behind, the very same monsters who would assault my sleep and curse me with countless numbers of sleepless nights.…
