Personal Differences: My Relationship Between Grandmothers And Grandmothers

The relationship that people form with their grandmother is one that usually makes a great impact on their life. People see grandmothers as being sweet and always have positive comments to say when referring to their bond with their grandmothers. Grandmothers are sometimes seen as the second mother, but appear to be nicer and treat their grandchildren like princes and princesses. When we go to our grandparent’s house we expect to have fresh cookies baked and ready when we walk in the door so that we can sit down in hear our grandparents tell stories about the family’s history. With this being said I feel like Marji and her grandmother had some sort of a “normalcy”, but it was also unique and a relationship that only they would understand. Since I was very young when my grandparents died I never had the pleasure of building a close bond with them. Throughout my life, I have based my views of grandparents off of movies or how I’ve witnessed my friends interacting with their grandmothers. I’ve had many friends who have stories about the wonderful things their grandmothers would do such as spoiling them by buying those items and taking them out to eat. Even though there may be some similarities, of grandmother and granddaughter relationship will be the same as any other because every relationship is based off events that occur within the relationship. For instance, my friend’s grandmother bought her gifts as a way to show that she loved her and that’s one thing that was unique between the two of them, but I’m sure others do the same. The stories that her grandmother shared with her also helped to show the bond that the two of them had. Between the two of them the story of her grandfather being a prince was significant to their relationship and that’s a story that no other grandmother and granddaughters can say
