Cells contain organelles they aren’t touched basis on, that also play a very important role into the cell as far development goes. Many of the organelles operate off of other to maintain its specific duties with the human body. One in particular are considered to be peroxisomes. Peroxisomes have digestive enzymes in relations to lysosomes, but they have special bodies that allow it to work in low level regions in which wouldn’t be supported elsewhere inside of the specific cell. Peroxisomes break down chains of long fatty acids, amino acids, etc. that are vital for the normal function of the brain and body. Peroxisomes are found in the cytoplasm as well. The disease dealing with the interruption of the process of the peroximal disease is called Adrenoleukodoystrophy, better known as “ALD”. ALD is a very deadly disease and is caused by a sequence of long fatty acids that are aren’t broken down because the peroxisomes lacked the second most abundant protein in the outer membrane of this organelle. This disease causes some of the following dysfunctions within the body such as stiffness or ataxia. The buildup, of fatty acids within the spinal cord, brain, causes severe nerve transmission to be incomplete, there for the body isn’t able to perform properly. The slowing of brain process will cause it to eventually fail and unable to work. The brain disorder of buildup, causes the deterioration of myelin. This layer is a protective coating that surround the brains neurons. Without that barrier, the neurons can’t tell the nerve cells how to operate. Meaning that the loss of activity within the body will seem to deplete leading to serious problems such as blindness, seizures, deafness, dementia, and muscle control loss. There is no guaranteed cure for ALD but treatment is available to prolong
