In the incident that occurred I believe that bath care and perineal care is just as important as administering medications. “Patients in ICU are at greater risk of infection due to the presence of significant comorbidities, exposure to antibiotics and breaks in skin integrity due to invasive devices (Soussi & Asfour, 2015)”. This patient did have comorbidities and invasive devices which increase her risk of developing hospital-acquired infections, increasing her need for bath care and perineal care.
