Penelope is now 12 years old and she is growing up to be a beautiful, amazing,talented,and well-educated girl. From the previous parent forum report, Penelope has grown about 8 years and several things have changed. She is much older, more focused, and is in the fifth grade. For her physical development, she is continually growing and has grown quite a lot since she was four. According to her kindergarten screening. she has no problem getting use to kindergarten activities and that she is very cooperative. Her motor skills have grown quite a lot since the last forum, from climbing to working on school project in class with groups. Overall her physical development has grown at a good steady pace. She did not get upset when mid stress happens, she performed well on her vocabulary tests, and she showed advanced skills in the use of numbers. As the years go by, she continues to show strengths and above average in reading, writing, mathematical problems, understanding visual arts. The psychologist even said that she could potentially be put in a gifted math program, but there would need to be more testing to confirm. For the most part, Penelope was doing great in her cognitive development. However, sometimes she does not follow instructions and is disruptive. So a psychologist, and her teacher recommend getting a test that Penelope should probably be put on ADHD medication. For her socioemotional development, since she was young girl penelope was able to cooperative and get along with the other children. She still is able to cooperate in groups, respects them, and shows good social group interaction. She sometimes get upset when she is put into stressful situations, but she always bounces back to her normal …show more content…
Some psychical characteristics is that she is starting to a lot more like me. She has long black beautiful hair, fair skin, and has an average height for her age. However, her behavior in the classroom has been quite upsetting. According to her teacher, she was more impulsive and distractible. That she has not been listening to directions and is disturbing the class word being done in class. Some evidence of the impact of nurture on Penelope would be that she is starting to wear makeup everyday, and always wants new clothes or shoes to keep up with the latest fashion trends. She has also been doing very well in school and is developing amazing friendships. She is very interested in the latest events and news so I started watching news channel with her so we can have engaging conversations about what is going on in the world and develop more of a connection with my daughter. She is very caring, respectful of other and their property. She is very cooperative especially in group setting and treats other as she would wanted to be treated. According to my reports and the way I have been treating Penelope, I have been using a mix of two parenting styles. I have been using the permissive type and the authoritative type of parenting style. The permissive type of parenting style is when there is high nurturance and low in maturity demands, control,
