According to McIntosh she can walk through the mall and shop without being harassed or monitored. Regardless if paying in cash, credit, or using checks her skin color will work on the appearance of financial reliability. McIntosh, also stated that if in the need for legal assistance or medical help she can be sure that her skin won’t work against her.
