The role of a peer mentor is to help students with their transition from high school to college. You want them to enjoy the college atmosphere. In my case, I was considering to transfer right in the beginning because I just did not like the whole atmosphere. Thanks to my wonderful peer mentor though they reassured me to keep trying to adjust by joining clubs, going to events, and making friends that I would begin to like it here. Once I did that I began to love it here. So the job of the peer mentor is not only to help during orientation but to continue throughout the semester in making sure everyone is adjusting well. Also, if someone is not adjusting well to make sure to check in on them and give them the resources necessary to help them in whatever they need. I am fairly good at meeting new people, my peer students, because I believe I can be outgoing, friendly and easy to talk to. I also believe another strength was being involved within campus. I am the president of emotion, member of CAC, and mentor in Moving Forward Together. When my peer students had questions about joining clubs I could offer them my experiences in these different clubs or provide them with someone that was in a club they were interested. Another example of a strength is knowing where places are. Now that is common for most students that live on this campus but it is a very important strength for the beginning of the year with your peer students. They are new to the campus so for me being able to tell there where buildings were and where rooms were it was helpful in their adjustment. Now, I am not perfect and I do posses weaknesses. One weakness I have is that I procrastinate, so I do not always plan things as far in advance. This can be a problem at times for peer students that have busy schedules and need plans in
