It is a fact that more viewers watch men’s sports over women’s sports. Female soccer players get paid less because their sport makes less than Men’s Soccer. The 2015 Women’s World Cup brought in 17 million in sales and sponsorships, while the 2014 Men’s World Cup brought in 529 million. That is over thirty times of what the women’s event ever made. Besides the fact that the 2015 Women’s US Cup was the most watched soccer game in US history, but it still fell short to the 28 million viewers who watched the NCAA Men’s basketball final. (Clarke) Others say that watching women’s sports just aren’t entertaining (Clark).Which, that is one of the major issues! Why is it that men’s sports are so much more entertaining? Sports in college should all receive the same amount of money for every sport to hand out. For example, baseball and softball should be given the same amount of scholarships dollars to give out, but they aren’t. Baseball is given way more by a landslide. The same goes for every other sport in college. There are also major differences in the salaries of head coaches. At Division one schools, the head coach of a women’s team generally makes around 850,000 dollars, while the head coach of a men’s sport makes about 1,700,000 dollars. That is a huge difference, almost one million dollars! You also see a pay gap within colleges coaches of a given sport. For example, the coach of a men’s soccer team would receive significantly more of a salary then the head coach of a women’s soccer
