Paul's Epistles Thematic Essay

There were several important themes in Paul’s Epistles the three that are significant to my church and/ or personal life is as follows justification, grace, and faith. Justification has taken many years to totally understand for my walk with Christ. It has been really hard to grasp onto the fact that I do not have to do everything myself. All I have to do is give everything to Jesus and he will be there to help me through whatever it is that I am facing. Last year my husband was in a life threatening work accident and would have lost his life if someone had not been there to put a tourniquet on his leg. My husband is the breadwinner of the family I do not work and have not worked for years. In fact I have been trying to get a job for over a year with no success. The day my husband was rushed to the …show more content…
I am so thankful for God’s grace that he extents to me daily. In Ephesians 2:8 it says “For by grace you have been saved through faith”(Bible Gateway, 2011). If it were not for God’s grace I do not know where I would be today. I am far from perfect and know that if it were not for his grace I would never make it to be with him for eternity. I make mistakes daily even though I try not to. I think trying to stay humble helps with not making so many mistakes. I think faith and grace sort of go hand in hand with out each other being put into practice then you essentially have nothing. In order to get grace you have to have faith and visa versa without God’s grace we would not have faith. So many times I know God has extended grace to me and I give him thanks for that. Everyone needs grace and needs to know that God is a gracious God and all we have to do is love him and follow his will four our lives and he will give us all the grace we need. I know that my church believes that God’s grace plays a big part in everyone’s lives because without it we would all be doomed to a life of

The Roman church had not yet been visited and had no New Testament because the gospels were not yet being circulated in their final written form. Thus, this letter may well have been the first piece of Christian literature the Roman believers had seen. In Roman culture to choose to be a servant was unthinkable. Paul was a Roman citizen but chose to be entirely dependent on and abide in Christ Jesus (Romans 1:1). Paul’s impact was made known because of his citizenship and willingness to serve and obey Jesus…

Paul’s Letter to the Galatians plays a pivotal role in shaping theological understanding as we know it. It has provoked us to rethink about our relationship with God, and to reconsider who really is this God we serve? In this case, Galatians holds such great reverence among Christians in answering these overarching questions, because of Paul’s skillful ability to challenge authority and condemn the Galatians for following under “the desires of the flesh,” rather than living by “the Spirit” (5.16). In order for us to understand the significance of Galatians and its role in shaping our interpretation of these questions, we must first cultivate a deeper understanding of the context behind Paul’s letter within the interest of the contemporary reader.…

Paul epistles In studying the 13 letters written by Paul, we can lay them in two categories, the church, and to people. To the churches are Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians, Colossians and 1 and 2 Thessalonians. To people, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. After Paul conversion, his goal was to reach the Jews and Gentile and teach them the way a Christian should live.…

Every Psalm that I have read thus far has shown me more and more about God’s grace and how we must give him praise every single day. Not just because of the sole fact that he is our Creator but, because every day each and every one of us go through so many things and he is always there for us no matter what. He is the only one who chooses between giving us life and death, and he is the only one who continuously shows us grace above all else. In Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need” (New Living Translation).…

It’s really beautiful that at the forefront of each of Paul’s letters He includes a Thanksgiving and Prayer section, and I think it’s really reflective of how we are called to live daily, first thanking God for all he has done. Much of what Paul is praying for I pray too for myself, that ‘my heart might be enlightened in order [to] know the hope to which he has called [me]’ (1:18) I can’t image how different my life would look if I looked forward at God’s redemptive plans not as a hopeful wish but a confident expectation of what is to come. If I truly believed what I say, that ‘my hope comes from Him’ (Psalm 62:5), isn’t Jesus’s return one of the only things I can confidently cling to in this world?…

Paul was stuck in between the two biggest bullies in the whole 6th grade. His mind was racing with ways he would get out of this arduous situation, that was becoming more common after the browbeaters realized how powerless Paul was when they threw him in the trash can two days ago. They followed him five blocks on the way back to Paul’s house before finally trapping Paul in an alley beside Mr. White’s Department Store. The bullies continued to draw closer to Paul provoking him, calling Paul names, and throwing rocks at him.…

Ethics, morals, good and evil, truth or lack thereof in today’s society these things have adapted from a fixed foundation to a relative acceptance throughout many populations. What can one base their belief on you may ask yourself? Tolerance is the way of advancement; any other viewpoint discredited and treated as forbidden philosophy. The foundational laying of a biblical worldview must be framed and built upon a resilient and authoritative truth. We will discuss the biblical worldview from the perception of God through the writing of Paul in the book of Romans.…

One thing that I have learned is that God has given us grace so that we may show others grace. We never deserved his loving grace, yet he went through torture and troubles to give it to us. In the same way, we don’t deserve others grace, yet we go through trouble to show others it. God has taught us to love those even when they don’t love us, and that is why Grace makes sense. I appreciate the grace I have been given from these people who are experiencing so much trouble and I am so grateful to have been able to show them the grace God has shown…
