Paula Frantz has been the Executive Director of The Global Institute of Lansing (GIL) since the fall of 2011. GIL is a non-profit organization that helps refugees and immigrants, who have aged out of the public school system, earn an accredited high school diploma. Paula is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, recruiting and enrolling students, recruiting and training volunteers, and grant writing. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College, with a major in Human Development & Social Relations and a minor in Spanish. Her past experiences range from teaching ESOL and GED/ABE classes, being a Parent Involvement Coordinator for the Lansing School District, working for Head Start, and working the State
