In July, 2016 I made the decision to move from specialty sales to take on an opportunity in rare disease. Why, because I wanted the chance to truly be an advocate to patients with rare conditions. A lot of my prior success was measured by a sales metric, but I needed more to stay passionate about my job. What I didn’t know was the depth of involvement I would take on in the patient journey, and the sense of reward I would feel. This has fueled a passion that I had never experienced in my career.
In May 2017 I hosted an educational dinner program for patients and their family/caregivers. Throughout the program I listened to patient’s stories that they were comfortable enough to share with the HCP speaker and Patient Ambassador.
