Headaches are pain that is found any region of the head. Nerves, blood vessels and muscles found in the head and neck area are all involved in the causes of headaches; usually over activity of these structures and chemical actions can all be sources of why the condition exists. Primary headaches are symptoms that are not caused by another ailment. They can be categorized into migraines, tension headaches, and cluster headaches.

Each Session will take about an hour to an hour and a half. The first half of the session we will spend around 45 minutes too practice using the EMG machine. We will target three different muscles that have high tension and are found to cause headaches. These muscles include the Frontalis, Masseter, and the Trapezius. The trapezius muscle is the muscle found in your shoulder that tenses your shoulders up when in response to a stressor. We will place the temperature reading monitor and place this on your hands. We will use the monitor to flash the color blue when your temperature tends to drop and red when it increases. By using colors you are able to recognize when your body is subconsciously under stress. We will also use deep breathing and other relaxing techniques such as meditation, to increase the temperature. Once recognizing your body’s responses to stress we will practice relaxing and reducing the stress. By reducing the stress your body should be producing a higher body temperature. Over time this should be a helpful technique to calm down and relieve stress before headaches occur. Results With practice and dedication I predict a significant reduction to the occurrences of headaches and how long they last. I believe that once you can learn to regulate your body’s responses to everyday stress this will help reduce your headaches drastically. Learning these techniques will help slow down the sympathetic nervous system. In doing this it basically is slowing down the stress response. With the increase of blood pressure, heart rate, and increased release of hormones due to the sympathetic system responding to stress; stalling these reactions from happening can be a great
