It provides a protein that strengthens the hair, nails and skin, which is called Keratin. They are found in the Basal Layer of the Stratified Epithelium, where they multiply by dividing. Keratinocytes over time become flatter, lose their nuclei and die.
The second cell type is called the Melanocytes, which produces the skin darkening pigment melanin. The cell is located in the Basal Layer of the Epidermis, the Melanosomes are relocated to the Epidermal cells. Which then makes pigmentation of the Epidermis. Melanin is responsible for different skin colours.
The Merkel Cell is in the Basal Layer of the Epidermal. It is part of the reason we have the sensation of light touch. Merkel Cells are mainly found in the fingertips and also the lips.
Langerhans’ cells are found in the Epidermis, it is quite an important part of the immune system. The Langerhans’ cell is a kind of white blood cell. It is part of the Lymph Nodes. It works to prevent infections and it helps the immune reactions by interacting with T- cells. It is also produced in the bone marrow. Langerhans’ cells occur in small numbers, mainly on the skin.
Not only does the Epidermis have four different cell types, it is also made up of five layers.

They are main found in the connective tissues, but can also bee seen in the Spleen and Liver.
When having a allergic reaction Mast cells, have been known to release Histamine. This is because when the body is having an allergic reaction the Mast Cell is injured, the reason for this unknown but it comes from the bone marrow and transfers in the connective tissues of the body. The chemicals of the Mast cell cause irritation to the skin, but can also get into the lungs, making the throat close up like it is found in Asthma.
There are many different types of White Blood Cells, Macrophages being one type. But the White Blood Cells help fight off infection and diseases in the body. Some people can have a disorder with White Blood cells, as they might have too many and too little White Blood Cells, which then causes them to not function properly and not be able to fight off infections that attack the system.
As I mentioned earlier, the Dermis is made up two layers, the first one being the Papillary Layer.
The Papillary layer is the top layer of Dermis, and has connective tissue to gives nutrients to the Epidermis which helps the body control the temperature, when it either gets too warm or
