One of the twelve, who was called Judas, went to the chief elders and said,
“What are you willing to give me if I give him over to you?”
They paid him thirty-two pieces of silver, and from then on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over. On the first day of the Feast of Breaking Bread, the disciples went to Jesus, and Jesus said,
“Go into the city to the man and tell him, ‘Jesus says, “My call time is nearing; with you, and with my disciples I shall celebrate the Passover Feast.”
The disciples did as Jesus told them, and prepared for the Passover Feast. When evening had dawned, he relaxed himself at the table with the Twelve. As they were eating, he said,
“Amen, I say to you, which one of you will betray me?.”

His betrayer said,
“Arrest the man I shall kiss.”
He went over to Jesus and said,
“Hail!”
and kissed him. Jesus answered,
“Friend, do what you want with me.”
Then stepping forward towards Jesus, they arrested him.
At that hour the crowds yelled,
“This man said, ‘I can destroy the temple of God and within three days rebuild it.’”
The high priest rose and addressed him,
“You have no answer? What are these men saying against you?”
Jesus was silent. Then the high priest yelled,
“I order you to tell us under oath before God whether or not you are the Christ.”
Jesus replied,
“You said so.’”
Then the high priest tore his tattered robes and said to the crowds,
“You have now heard this unutterable blasphemy; tell me your opinion?”
They replied,
“He deserves to a terrible death!”
Then they spat in his face and struck Jesus.
Peter was sitting outside in the gathering area. One of the maids came to him and said,
“You were with Jesus the Galilean?”
He denied it in front of everyone, by saying,

What has he done to deserve such a terrible death?”
They only shouted the louder,
“Crucify him! Crucify him!”
When Pilate saw that he was not succeeding, but that a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands, saying,
“I am innocent of this man’s blood. Look to yourselves.”
And the people as a whole said in reply,
“His blood be stricken upon us and our children.”
Then he released Barabbas to them, but after he had Jesus whipped and beaten, he handed him over to be crucified. The soldiers took Jesus inside the praetorium and gathered as a whole around him. They ripped off his clothes and threw a military cloak about him. Then, weaving a crown out of thorns, they dug it into his head, and mocked him, by saying,
“Hail, King of the Jews!”
They spat upon him. When they had mocked him, they ripped him of the cloak, redressed him in his own clothes, and led him off to be crucified. As they were going out, they met a Cyrenian man named Simon; this man was forced into the service to help carry his cross. When they came to a place called Golgotha, they gave Jesus wine to drink which was mixed with gall. But he had tasted it, and refused to drink. After they had crucified him, they placed just over his head the charge which had been written against him, which read: This is Jesus, the King of the Jews. Two others were crucified with him, one at his right and the other at his left. Those passing by, shaking their heads
