Parthenocissus inserta, also known as thicket creeper is a liana or a woody, climbing plant that does not support it own weight. It is a woody vine plant that seasonally loses their leaves (deciduous) in the winter months. The Parthenocissus inserta habitat is anthropogenic (man-made or disturbed habitats), forests, shores of rivers or lakes, and rocky slopes. The plant is a climber and climbs by using tendrils. Tendrils have several purposes, they support the plant growth, help vines attach to another object and provides stability to prevent the stem from breaking. The tendrils have few branches and the tips where they attach to a tree or other climbing structure are narrow compared to adhesive disks or pads of the Virginia creeper . The leaf
