Parental Influence on Children’s Literacy
The ultimate goal is to increase adult literacy worldwide. By providing parents with hard evidence and then followed with support that parental involvement increases literacy rates, and higher academic achievement is statistically improved.
There many parents that I have personally encountered believe that books at bedtime are unnecessary, and are a distraction to their children’s sleep prep habits. I have also be privy to conversations where parents use many different excuses as to why they do not engage in any reading activities with their children, and quite frankly I have been appalled at the lack of proclaimed activity.
