Parental Involvement And Teenage Abortion

Decent Essays
Here in the U.S most states require a type of parental involvement, such as a consent form or notification. Parental involvement laws play a huge role in Teenage abortion which makes it a bit harsh for the female to acquire an abortion. In other words, I myself and other people find it unbelieveable that we need any parental consent to have an abortion, And that’s when we have people who displays their dislike for teen abortion, which are considered a complete outcast in today’s society. I believe that no one should bring any religious beliefs into Abortion at all.

A theory about religion is that life starts at conception. People with other beliefs should not be forced to abide by this certain theory. Legal abortion today states that human life starts at birth, but when a baby is born, it grows and develops into a teenager, then a mature adult, until it finally becomes old and dies. Humans are made to develop and change, so a human becomes a human during conception.…

Mark Ruffalo once said, “There was no mistake in us making abortion legal and available on demand. That was what we call progress. Just like it was no mistake that we abolished institutional racism in this country around the same time.” We have came a long way since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade court case which ruled abortions legal, but there is still a lot of nationwide discourse on the subject. America as a country made the vote to legalize abortion more than four decades ago for many reasons such as overpopulation, the mother's well being, and for the fact that the decision should be left to woman carrying the child.…

The cause of the increase in the number of abortions has started the controversy on how to decrease the rate of these abortions each year. There have been many conclusions and ideas on how to decrease the number of abortions and that keep that rate down, but no one has come to a definite solution just yet. The controversy on how to decrease the number of abortions seems to remain to two main solutions. One solution being to require all states to have parental consent laws of underage girls getting abortions.…

Along with all the problems of our country, abortions are one of the most spoke on topics. The government is indecisive of whether to make it illegal or keep the current standings brought by the Supreme Court case, Roe vs Wade. I understand that we humans; are beings like any other, who repeatedly make mistakes, but I do not agree with the final resort of taking a life because of an avoidable mistake. Our youth should be taught how to prevent the possibility of pregnancy because they aren’t mature enough, financially equip, nor independent enough to take on the title of being a parent. The ones who get pregnant at a young age use abortions as “Plan C” when they don’t think before they act.…

If abortion or adoption were not choices then the responsibility of the child would most likely fall on the teen’s parents. Teenage mothers are usually single, unemployed, and living at home with their parents. They are dependent on their parents for money and support and are not able to give all their time to their children. That is why the parents should have a say in making the decision because it could affect the parents’ lives as much as the teen mother. Teenage girls that end up pregnant are scared and sometimes ashamed.…

It is a legal, political, religious, and social issue that transcends many fundamental dimensions, including moral, familial, and human rights, which are the variety of worldviews that exist in our modern society (Hoffman 8). Specifically dealing with religion, most traditions go to some measures to ensure that their religious preferences distinguish abortion between effective and traumatic reasons. One main reason why religious preferences influence abortion attitudes is because it can determine a person’s fate, after death. Religion is such a touchy subject to bring up in this case of abortion because so many different debates can be brought up on whether or not it’s ethical, and should it be socially/politically accepted. Not all Christians agree with abortion , but some people look at it from the perspective of how Jesus would probably think , and how it can tie in with abortion, most Christians believe that Christianity is about healing, and consumption, and again view abortion as a sin.…

Especially wanted to focus on the teenage girl and the decisions she has to make when she finds out she is pregnant. It is a huge responsibility to make the decision to have a child, to give your child up for adoption or to decide to abort your child; no matter the age. Teen parents are put into little stereotypes based on what people think they know about them, or what they have heard.
