Paranoid personality disorder is characterized by on ongoing distrust for other people based on the unsupported belief that people are out to get them by tying to trick, harm, or exploit them. The symptoms of this disorder can include hostile and jealous behavior, unwillingness to release personal information in fear it will be used against them and they may display unwarranted counterattacks in response to compliments and social interaction. Signs and symptoms may also include controlling and hostile behaviors for no reason and an unwillingness to forgive others.
