Within the parable of the sower, a farmer is described sowing seeds, these seeds fall on various types of soil. Many of the seeds fall on places where it is nearly impossible for them to develop. For example, some of the seeds are eaten by birds before they can even take root while other seeds fell upon stony places where they spring up briefly, but are later scorched by the sun. Many of my classmates have chosen God and have grown in their faith a lot since freshman year. This is an example of seeds being sown on good soil. Within the past years, the seeds of God’s words have been deeply rooted within many of my classmates causing them to lead morally strong lives. Other classmates of mine have veered from God throughout high school. They have fallen away from God even though they came into Xavier with a steady faith. Lastly some of my classmates have be provided the materials to know God, but chose never to use them, much like the seeds that were planted, but never grew.
