Paper Towns Adventurous Quotes

Decent Essays
The mood in Paper Towns is very adventurous. Throughout the novel the reader can see multiple times where adventure is the source in the character’s energy. One of the main characters Margo lives for adventure. As Quentin says “Margo Roth Spiegelman, whose stories of epic adventures would blow through school like a summer storm…Margo Roth Spiegelman, who spent three days traveling with the circus…Margo Roth Spiegelman, who got into that concert by telling the bouncer she was the bassist’s girlfriend” (14). She shows how adventurous she is when she makes Quentin break into SeaWorld with her and tells him that this is not her first time breaking in here.

The life of a soldier in World War One was one filled with death, destruction, and atrocity. For many, the reality in which they existed proved too much for what one person could handle. A soldier often returned a different man, both physically and psychologically. In Joseph Boyden’s Three Day Road”, the main characters Elijah and Xavier are subjected to this reality. In contrasting the different personalities of Elijah and Xavier, one can demonstrate how war is experienced by individuals in very different ways.…

Despite incredible loss, and sadness, characters like Doc Gibbs, George, and the boy have found a way to make the best of their lives. In Sounder,by William H. Though the main character, Salva, went through many challeges in the journey, he survived the journey with determination, and the knowledge to survive. Salva did many things in his long journey, and he definetly worked very hard, for his survival. On page 43 the text states, “‘Salva staggered forward with yet another enormous load of reed in his arms.…

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Is a great story for children to read. Even if they don’t quite understand the meaning, it’s really about just one thing: The adventures of the future. One of my favorite lines from the book, “On and on you will hike, And I know you’ll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are,” seems to explain life fairly well.…

One of my favorite quotes is “Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is”. As the boys come onto my island, some of them decide to hold back or change themselves to gain a following. This applies to two boys in particular. Piggy, who believes that if he hides his intelligence he will be able to shield himself from shrewdness from the other boys. Also Jack who is under the impression that if he becomes aggressive and an “alfa” figure on the island he will gain a following from the other boys, eventually resulting in him being chief.…

Physical Symptoms: Isolating Himself from Society: Depressed people often isolate themselves because they do not want to face the strain of social contact. “I was standing way the hell up on top of Thomsen Hill, right next to this crazy cannon that was in the Revolutionary War and all.
