Judging a person does not define who they are but defines who you are. Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things. There is cases of discrimination every day, it's everywhere. The most common type of discrimination in the US is race. This occurs most frequently in the US because it is a very ethnically diverse country. There is also other types of discrimination like; age, disability, religion, and sex. Discrimination does not affect most people in their daily lives probably because they just ignore it. The surveyed did in fact share some similar feelings while being discriminated. Some people were more confident and wished the person knew that they are not easily offended, on the other hand others wished the person knew that they are good students. A great response to what they would want the person to have known about them was that all human beings are the same. This topic can be very controversial but ultimately we are all similar and have to accept one another's flaws. We can all agree that every person believes in a different root cause for discrimination. According to my subject they believe that the root cause is to make themselves feel better and many other people would agree with this. Another root cause stated is that they have hatred for themselves, so they let it out by discriminating others. A big cause that many people will also agree with is that it is because of the human beings uniqueness and differences. The advice given to the people who discriminate is to appreciate the differences, keep the comments to themselves, and to put themselves in their shoes so they will have an idea of what it feels like to be discriminated. I think there are many dangers with continued discrimination. This can ultimately lead to suicide if it reaches that extent. Discrimination has divided the world into separate categories for each type of person and that is bad because this leads to bad relationships between groups of people.
