Tony Thompson COO described FOCUS as “a technologically advanced system designed specifically and uniquely for our model and will continue to support store-level productivity and profitability" (Kelso, 2014, para.15). Another critical area for sales is the mobile platform and in 2014, Papa John’s hit the 5 billion mark in online sales which is roughly half of all domestic orders (Kelso, 2014). While competitors like Dominos is diversifying with sandwiches and Pizza Hut has the YUM portfolio and brand Papa John’s is all in on pizza (Lutz, 2015). In 2015, Papa John’s announced that it would be creating healthier options and nutritional information online for its products for more health conscious consumers (“Papa John’s Introduces”, 2015). In addition in summer of 2016 “Papa John’s will be the first national pizza chain to pledge removal of antibiotics from its grilled chicken pizza toppings and chicken poppers” (“Chicken on Papa John’s Pizzas”, 2015, para.5).
