P1 Unit 4

Written Assignment Unit 4 A self-directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner is someone who has a passion for learning and derives joy from learning. This is a person who seeks out opportunities to participate in discussions and debates and can assist others through demonstrating or explaining what they have learned. This is a person who will take responsibility for their lifelong learning and will seek out various venues to support, clarify and enhance what they learn. Using the day planner helps me here as well. I am able to outline steps for myself that I can reasonably follow to complete the task in a timely manner. This allows me to not become overwhelmed and not go down that rabbit hole. 3 – I would like to build confidence in participating in large discussion groups. I am already required to participate in class discussion. By virtue of doing this routinely a comfort level will be attained. Volunteering also allows me to interact with a large group of strangers. I plan to continue volunteering at my foodbank and find another venue a bit out of my comfort zone. I believe this will help me build confidence in my own interpersonal skills and allow me to rely on others and ask for their help. 4 – Part of my procrastination stems from wanting to achieve my own sense of mastery in something before I engage with others. I need to push myself to do things that are new to me. I need to fail spectacularly and enjoy the process anyway. I am currently enrolled in a salsa class. I am proud to admit that I am truly terrible at salsa. And! I am thoroughly enjoying it. I will find another class to take when this is over and I plan to revel in that failure as
