Common characteristics of melanoma include growth of or an existing mole.

Causes/ Risk Factors
Melanoma occurs when something goes awry in the melanin producing cells.
Skin cells develop when healthy cells push older cells toward the skin’s surface where they die. But when cells develop DNA damage, new cells grow out of control and forms a mass of cancerous cells.
Melanoma causes include environmental and genetic factors. Doctors believe ultraviolet radiation from the sun and faux tanning is the leading cause of melanoma.

With osteoporosis, new bone creation doesn’t keep up with old bone removal. This makes bones weak.

Causes/Risk Factors
Osteoporosis is a silent disease and is not often found until someone has a bone fracture.
Occurs when there is an imbalance between new bone formation and old bone resorption.
Two essential minerals needed for bone function are calcium and phosphate.
Risk factors include aging and calcium deficiency. Osteoporosis can be prevented in childhood.
Sex, body frame, diet, race, age, and family history add to a list of risk factors.

Signs and Symptoms
Pain in body.
Loss of height.
Bone fracture.
Stooped posture.

Diagnosis
Doctors will ask questions and observe your lifestyle to determine if you are at risk for osteoporosis. The doctor will then determine if you need to be scanned or not.
These x rays can determine the proportion of mineral in your bones.
In this test, the hip, wrist, and spine are scanned.

Malignant Melanoma Melanoma is caused mainly from the intense exposure of UV radiation from the sun. Melanoma starts in the epidermis and stratum Basale layers. The UV rays will eventually cause the DNA replications which will make the cells replicate very fast making the cancer tumors. When treated early it is most of the time solved and doesn’t come back. When the early melonoma is not treated it will soon turn into malignant melonoma and will spread around the body to many vital organs.…

Malignant melanoma is a form of skin cancer that forms in melanocyte cells in the basal layer of the epidermis which produce melanin that gives human their skin, hair, and eye color. Malignant melanoma grows malignant tumors due to DNA damage to the skin cells probable to UV radiation that causes mutations and sets off skin cells to multiply rapidly and form these malignant tumors. Melanomas are closely similar to moles making it difficult for a person to distinguish from a normal mole to a malignant mole or melanoma. Most melanomas are black or brown in color, but some can also be pink, red, purple, blue, or even white. Melanoma has 5 stages, stage 0 and 1 being localized; stage 0 is noninvasive while stage one has invaded the skin…

This DNA damage leads to cellular mutation and causes skin cells to multiply quickly, thus forming tumors and abnormal growths. There are several causes of skin cancer, including sunburn and ultraviolet light exposure throughout life with environmental and hereditary elements. Ultraviolet light, a type of electromagnetic radiation, is invisible to the human eye and comes from the sun. It is the foremost cause of skin cancer, associated with 90 percent of non-melanoma skin cancers and 86 percent of melanomas.…
