Overcoming Obstacles In The Medical Field

On the front line of medicine, doctors continue to face numerous obstacles and forces that test their ability of succeeding in this exacting career. They are torn between patients, paperwork, payers, and patient requests. With their demanding career, doctors wish to remain dedicated to medicine while fighting against the many challenges, such as time-management, healthcare systems, economic/social/political barriers, incurable diseases, and the weight of patients lives, they must overcome that further divide their time and attention. For many years, doctors are viewed as heroes who heal diseases and save lives, and have traditionally been paid great amount of money. Even if salary is not a motivating factor, it is not a surprising that many individuals want to major in Medicine in order to give back to humanity in such a grand and noble manner. Nevertheless, this idealism wavers somewhat for many prospective nurses and doctors as they progress through medical school and the high demands of residency.
