Bice and Thomas Parry transcribed a piece labeled as “Adult’s Motivation for Physical Activity: Differentiating Motives for Exercise, Sport and Recreation.” In this article, they discovered that “Adulthood physical activity can result in decreased risk for heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and cancer; increased muscle mass; and decreased probability of acquiring injuries” (“Adults’ Motivation”). The act of being active instead of sitting at a desk or sitting and staring at a television is enough to benefit one’s body. Making small changes from what a person does on a typical day could greatly impact their health, whether it be a meeting a friend and walking and talking instead of sitting at a house, pacing while talking on the phone instead of standing or sitting in a single spot, walking to a person’s office and speaking with them instead of an email or text, playing a musical instrument or playing games that involve movement like Wii Fit or Kinect games. When it comes to exercise, the hardest part may not be starting but continuing the workouts and focusing on healthier nutrition. The authors Carnes and Barkley compiled in their article that “Today, more than 95% of all chronic disease is caused by food choice, toxic food ingredients, nutritional deficiencies and lack of physical exercise” (“Peer
