During the Industrial Revolution, another chore was added to women’s list, which is work outside of the home. The articles I read was a deliberation between the two authors, Nancy Cott and Gerda Lerner, on whether or not the industrial revolution created more opportunities for women. She believes the opportunities women had during the revolution was nothing more than a phase and was only opened to young single women for certain careers.…

One of the service I think should be offered to UCF students is a mentorship program. I believe that it should be mandatory for every student to find a mentor in their field of study before graduation.…

The ICT industry is one such area where as experience as shown that all facets (methods, language and resources) have to be clearly explained and reinforced to ensure learning has taken place. Due to the nature of ICT, on most occasions it is akin to teaching learners another language due to the fact the learners are coming across new terms such as “motherboard”, “CPU”, “ATX”, “RAM” and “Router”. Another part of this statement that stands out is “ensuring all learners contribute”. In theory, this may sound good but, in practice it is one of the hardest obstacles a teacher faces today. The reason is that due to the frenetic nature of a session, it is difficult to “ensure all learners contribute” if you have a class of say 25-30 learners.…

Lifelong learning is a process of seeking, retaining, and applying information learned, that will continue throughout our lives here on earth. As nurses, learning must continue so that we are able to maintain the knowledge we have but also be able to grow and learn new things because the environment that we work in, is forever changing and we must be able to change with it. We could only imagine how healthcare would be later on in the future if nurses and doctors only relied on the knowledge they obtained during nursing and medical school. Learning does not stop once school is over with, but it is continuous and required way beyond graduation.…

I found my learning objectives more difficult to create than my performance objectives, since they are more abstract. International development is a multidisciplinary program with many different approaches, and as a result of that there are many approaches to using information gained from the program in real like context. The first goal I came up with was to work on “…using the theories I have learned in my development classes and apply them to launching ‘Calls for Proposals’…”. This goal embody both my existing knowledge and room to learn more about best practices in the government. My reasoning behind this goal was, that by knowing many theories of economic and social development such as modernization, dependency, and structuralist theories, I would be able to review applications and identify which had the most potential based on their models of thinking.…
