I believe that so many people smoke because they do not know how much it really is effecting their body. I think if people that smoke known that when they smoke cigarettes and their saliva comes in contact with the foreign chemicals found in cigarettes is how the cancer forms. I believe if smokers knew about this then more people would then try to stop smoking or at least try to cut back on how much they smoke. Some of those chemicals that can cause cancer are tar, nicotine, carbon monoxide, and arsenic. When one smokes they can efficiently extract almost ninety percent of the gaseous elements of the cigarette. Mouth cancer is caused when you smoke a cigarette it damages the person’s DNA and effects a person’s main genes that help protect one from getting cancer. People that smoke a lot can make it harder for them to remove the toxins found in cigarettes and even weaken their immune system. To get oral cancer from smoking cigarettes will not just form from smoking just one cigarette. It usually takes many years for cigarette smoke to cause damage to the DNA which then leads to cancer. Research shows that every time someone smokes fifteen cigarettes there will be a DNA change which can then lead to cells becoming cancerous.
My opinion on this this research from the two articles from Medical News Today and the Cancer Research websites is mind-blown that so many chemicals are found in cigarettes and that is why many people in this world suffer from cancer this day in age. What I do not get is when people smoke they extract about ninety percent of the gaseous or smoke part formed when you smoke, but yet the tar and nicotine found in cigarettes linger in your mouth, throat, and lungs.
