I personally appreciate a decent sketch or painting as much as anybody, a photograph, on the other hand, permits me to envision as though I'm seeing the spot through the eyes of the photographer. Personally, photography is a way to explore the world and myself. Sontag’s quote, “Photography implies that we know about the world if we accept it as the camera records it,” implies that we see the world as we need to see it in light of the fact that a camera just catches what we need to see. For example, when we take a picture we only focus on what we want to take and what we want to see in the picture. Sometimes filters or Photoshop are utilized to see in the picture what we want to see and in turn we do not accept the picture as the camera takes it as it is. In the digital age, Millennials as a whole attempt to make the photo look as well as it can be expected before posting it on social media or showing it off to somebody. I find my family, friends, and myself taking a photo while moving the camera everywhere, from side to side or horizontal to vertical, just to take the picture. Sontag contends that the photographic picture is a control system we have applied upon the world. Sontag wrote, “To photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed.
