The Life of Oliver Sykes Oliver Scott Sykes was born November 20, 1986 in Ashford, Kent, England. Oliver Sykes is mostly known for being the lead vocalist and songwriter of the metal core band Bring Me the Horizon. Sykes is also known for being one of the many faces of PETA and for releasing his creativity through his unique clothing line called Drop Dead Clothing and through his book Raised by Raptors.
Sykes’s Childhood Before his Fame After Sykes’s birth in Ashford, him and his parents, Ian and Carol Sykes, moved to Australia until he was the age of five. They then moved back to a town just outside of Sheffield, England called Stocksbridge. He went to school in Stocksbridge all his life and once he reached high school he first started making sample CD’s and short tracks under the name of Quakebeat

Soon after, the group released their first EP, This is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For on October 2, 2004. After a huge sale of that album and replacing the band Killswitch Engage on tour Bring Me the Horizon was more famous than ever before (Bring Me The Horizon- Biography). Oliver Sykes and the rest of the band created five more albums: Count Your Blessings in 2006, Suicide Season in 2008, There is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen it. There is a Heaven, Let’s Keep it a Secret in 2010, Sempiternal in 2013, and their newest album That’s The Spirit in 2015 (Bring Me the Horizon). Since Bring Me the Horizon’s release of Suicide Season in 2009, the band has been known for being in the top fifty or lower of the billboard charts for both the United Kingdom and United States.
