Money is a dangerous for our dependence because it can become a serious addiction. The English psychologist Oliver James wrote a book about this problem which is called “affluenza”. In his book entitled “Affluenza” compared it to some sort of selfish capitalism. He reported that people define who they are with the amount of money they make and have. He continues with pointing how people are dependent on their money. Harvard University and Utah University scientists did together a study about it. They reported in the New-York Times that money affects our behaviour and pushes us to be less moral. They scientifically proved that money brings distrust, lies, betrayal and cheating. Because as soon someone become to make a little more money than others, this person becomes paranoid and do not want anybody else to have his money. It destroys people’s moral because our values with richness is slowly vanishing. More someone is rich, the more she will be worrying about its money instead of people’s needs. Accordingly, individualism passes before everything else. Therefore, teaching the real value of money would help to solve a big part of this
