This performance was the symphony’s final performance for the year, so they were definitely at their best. It was clear to tell by how well the symphony played together. There were so many different instruments coming together to make something beautiful. The symphony played Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 3 which I thought truly showed the talent of the OCU symphony. This was my favorite song played during the evening. The hours put into this song by the OCU symphony must have been many by how well they played this particular piece. It was beautiful how the song started very slow but soon picked up speed. It also incorporated flutes, which seemed like the leader for the crescendo. The violins and basses followed the lead of the flute to create fuller, dramatic sounds in Beethoven’s piece. This song came across as a joyous piece to me, and the symphony did a wonderful job of taking this musical work and playing it like it was theirs. It takes special talent to take something that is someone else’s and make it your own. The atmosphere of the concert was very soothing. Like the jazz concert I attended I enjoyed going to these places being able to sit down and fully focus on the
