The authors discussed various findings from the study, concluding that a statistically significant change occurred in levels of physical activity each month, BMI, eating 5 or more fruits or vegetables a day, consuming moderate amounts of alcohol as well as maintaining the five healthy habits identified. The author’s noted that maintaining these habits may contribute to a decrease in cardiovascular disease in addition to lowering premature death rates. This information supports the value of integrating occupational therapy in primary care.
