Adversity can be described as difficulties or misfortune and some size of adversity can be dealt with everyday. Although I have overcome the initial hit of this unfortunate event, I deal with the hardship of being without my father on a daily bases. Losing someone that was once a significant part of ones life is a form of adversity that can never truly be healed; however, it is possible to reach acceptance of the situation and that I have done. Remembering the good times of the past will help one focus on being thankful for the time they had with someone, rather than on the times they will not get to experience with them. However, when it comes to other forms of adversity reminiscing must also be paired with a change of focus in order to be beneficial to overcoming the hardships. The star of LocoCycle is I.R.I.S, a sentient motorcycle that looks like it is from the Knight Rider era of television shows. IRIS is supposed to serve as a tool for an unscrupulous defense contractor, but after being struck by lightning she decides to attend a freedom rally in Scottsburg, Indiana instead. Pablo, her unfortunate mechanic, gets his pants caught in her chassis so he is unwillingly dragged along for the ride. LocoCycle is clearly inspired by cheesy B movies so don't expect the plot to make too much sense. Trying to figure out how a human being can survive being used as a melee weapon by a motorcycle with martial arts abilities will just lead to a headache.…

The statement that “Adversity is one thing we all experience at one point or another,” is quite correct. All people that live or have lived have suffered the pains of adversity. However the continuation of the statement is not as precise, not all “Texts dealing with adversity are moving portraits of people who are great examples of resilience.” This is because texts dealing with adversity can only show resilience in a limited number of forms, therefore in these texts resilience is shown as black and white, not as the many shades of grey it actually is. This can be observed in the texts “the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” by Mark Haddon, which follows the protagonist Christopher Boone as he tries to solve the mystery of the…

Memories can be beautiful reminders of our accomplishments and triumphs, but they can also bring back the more dark parts of our lives that we have tried to forget. The significance of our recollections of the past is that they can still play a role in how we act during our everyday routines. Sometimes in life the way that we remember the past is still relevant in how we chose to live our lives day to day, as a result we can often be close minded when it comes to change. This photo depicts a young caucasian woman, Hazel Bryan, glaring at fellow high school student Elizabeth Eckford, who happens to be African American.…

If a person has faced an adversity in their life, there is always something important about it which creates the person’s character or breaks it. I know I have. when I got admitted to study in the US I was ecstatic, however, my excitement dimmed when I realized that the scholarship I was awarded only covers my tuition and fees. I was at a loss because my parents had told me at the beginning of the application process that I had to get a "full ride" scholarship, that is the scholarship should cover the full cost of attendance or I had to forget about it. I struggled with breaking the news to my parents for fear of what they would say.…

Adversity is a specific time in someone's life when they are going through a difficult time. One situation in my lifetime when I was faced with adversity would have to be in my football career. It was my senior year and during one of my games I had unfortunately, sprained my right ankle on the first play of the game. I was devastated when I found this out and did everything I could to get back into that game. One example was when I was getting taped up to hopefully prevent as much pressure on my foot as possible.…
