Observations And Communication

Observations and communication are important among biologist that study amphibians because observations are shared among other biologists and more questions are answered through the observations.

Scientists make hypotheses (an educated guess) in scientific investigations that can be tested for additional information and observations. Predictions are expected outcomes of a test assuming the hypothesis is correct, scientists use and test their predictions to gather data, observations, measurements, etc. Lastly, scientists use experiments as a procedure to test a hypotheses and confirm it as true or false.

When a scientist does an experiment in nature, it’s impossible for him to control everything that happens; hence the experiment is not one that is controlled. The independent variable is the different elevations in which he sets up the plots. He changed where each one was located. The dependent variable is how the trees and species migrated over time, as well as the effects on the wildlife and species in all thirteen of the plots. 9.…

Although the entirety of Brian Gratwicke’s presentation entitled A Conservationist’s Perspective on the Global Amphibian Crisis was both informative and inspirational, there were two main messages from the presentation, in particular, that resonated with me the most. These messages include the purpose of conservation, and persevering even when the outlook is grim. It was due to the relatedness and the fact that conservation scientists often forget these messages that I regard the aforementioned messages as the most important. Brian Gratwicke defined the purpose of conservation science to be the mitigation of a threat. This purpose is often lost in light of politics.…

In biology, scientists use the scientific method in order to arrive at a scientific conclusion. The first step in the scientific method is making observations. Next, a hypothesis should be formulated in support of the observations that were made. Once a hypothesis has been developed, it should be tested. If the hypothesis is supported by the test, then it is advised that the test is repeated several times to be sure that it definitely supports the hypothesis.…

The scientific method is a procedure that is used by scientists now and in the past, dating back to the seventeenth century. The scientific method consists of observation, measurement, and experiment, and the creation and testing of hypotheses. There are several steps and different components to the scientific method that will (hopefully) answer the scientists’ questions, by the completion of the experiment. There are countless different reasons as to why a scientist would use the scientific method, but one area of research that is focused on is, biology. Biologists seek to find the answers to further and better understand the processes that occur in living systems.…
