Observation Of A Time Sheet

Decent Essays
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the store manager, Ines Lopes. We spoke briefly in regards to participants' time sheets. I instructed her on the proper way the time sheets should be filled out. During my visit, I noticed a few participants who were currently working in the aisle. They were either doing inventory check or stocking items on the shelves. As I walked around the store, I noticed the work site was kept clean and free of any hazards. I was also able to observe a few fire extinguishers and multiple emergency exits. Overall, this store was in compliance with DYCD rules and regulations.

Kathryn, as a new store manager, needs to gain the confidence and trust of her department heads and sales associates. Part of accomplishing this task is by providing her employees the opportunity to communicate with her through an open-door policy when it comes to questions or concerns with tasks. Kathryn also needs to become better acquainted with the employees and, to me, the best way is to be on the sales floor and participate in day to day operations. The purpose of this is two-fold: showing her employees she is approachable and that she is knowledgeable of stores products and practices. To enhance and reinforce the lines of communication, store meetings should be scheduled.…

On two seperate occassions this past week mistakes were made during lessons. I made a mistake on an assessment paper and copied the wrong side of the quiz and Mrs. Doss made a mistake and copied the wrong set of words for the entire class during word study. It really helped having 2 people in the classroom so new copies could be made and brought in ASAP. We were both able to laugh about it later in the day and realized we both were having a rough morning. I know that in a normal classroom you wont always have 2 people or a teachers aide to be able to fix mistakes.…

After taking the where is your time inventory, It gets kind of confuse and interesting to see how much time I spend outside my family. By virtue of being in the military my day is longer than the average person. The survey does not show a starting or ending point of the normal day, my day starts at 4am and ends normally by 11pm. My result of time was around 24 ½ hours. I agree with the concept noted in our textbook, “time appears is as precious commodity there never seems to be enough” (Beebe & Mottet, 2013, p. 383).…
