Observation Of A Child In Jose's Classroom

Jose is four year old boy in pre-k student for Imagine Early Learning Centers at The Lehman College Child Care Center. The daycare separate students by age, therefore Jose is place with the twilight group (3-4 years old). The daycare is small therefore, classroom has about 15 students. Jose is the biggest and tallest student within his group. He has brown eyes, black hair, and normally wears black and grey clothes. Jose do not have any known disabilities.

In Jose’s Classroom there tables with students name and a body part such as hand, ears, feet or head. The classroom has rug with book shelve near it. In addition, the classroom has there is art center (allows students to paint or draw), math center (has counting blockings), science center (children are allow to experiment with magnets), sand center (children are allow to play with sand), cozy center (normally used for time out), house center (children can role play as doctors, chefs, or police man and play with puppets), and block center (it has a lot of building blocks and figures). Next, he goes to rug along with his friends. The teacher tells them to pick up a book as she prepares herself. Jose most likely look over a book with his friend rather than pick one his self. Once, teacher is ready and tells students to put the books away, he helps puts other students books and sit back down. Teacher takes about 15 minutes to ask them the day of the week, what mouth they are in and asked them how they feel. Jose doesn’t raised his hands often, unless he sure. When he thinks he knows the answer he raises his hands and shakes it around to get his teacher attention. Yet, he is more active when it comes to singing along songs and dancing along with his friends. For example, when the teacher played the chicken song, he sings along the song and does the chicken dance and get excited and sometimes twirl
