Suddenly they were stopped by a corpse in the ice. The figure’s top half was sticking out while his legs and torso was buried in the ice. Found with unusual items, as the body was pulled from the ice, the police figured that this wasn’t a twentieth century explorer, but instead an OLD body. Really, really, old; 5,300 years old. Almost everything was perfectly freeze dried. The man was a 5’2 tall with a physical appearance similar to a modern Olympic wrestler. Dr. Paul Gostener spotted that by Otzi’s shoulder blade, there was a stone arrow head jabbed into him, this quickly become a murder mystery. In a CT scan there was an orbital fracture of the cranium on top of several other wounds. Trying to piece everything together, they found that there was a lot more to this story. They found pollen in his intestines. That suggests that during June Otzi was higher in the mountains above tree lines. He often went back down south of the mountain to his village (a long way down). Within a span of 24 hours a violent act happened in the village and was getting attacked. As he defended himself, he gets deeply cut. He heads back up the mountain with arrows, while bleeding for well over a day. Scientist find that Otzi was then hit by an arrow which in turn caused cardiac arrest and he blead to death. He died within 20 minutes. Whoever killed Otzi pulled the arrow out, and picked up a stone

These cuts were sustained some time before his death, most likely caused from an earlier confrontation. He also did not have a working bow and arrow. The bow was not completed, and there were only two finished arrows in the quiver. With this information we can infer that Otzi was first attacked after he finished his meal, maybe he went out for a walk after lunch, or dinner. He must have been far from the village when he was first attacked and was unable to get help or gather better supplies for defending himself.…

The pollen in his lungs suggests he had been going up and down the mountain. As if he was hunting down an animal or left something and went back to retrieve it. Yet in this scenario implies a rival clan, out to gain control over the trade route that Ötzi may have had in his control. Supporting evidence of this theory are Ötzi’s scars from previous battles. When he died, he had a defensive, partially-healed wound on his hand, seemingly from close-quarters combat (Death). These facts combined with the status proved by his copper blade both seem to say that Ötzi had control of something that others wanted, and that something that put a price on his head.…
