Many people fail to realize this because they automatically blame the obese individual for being in the physical condition that they are in. Some people are born with little control over them having a future of obesity if it is genetically inherited because of family bone structure for example. These genes can affect the amount of fat that is stored on the body and where specifically it is located on the body. The chances of being overweight or obese are greater when one or both parents of an individual are obese, because children adopt the habits that their parents have. If a child has obese, high calorie consuming, inactive parents, then they are at a higher risk of inheriting and developing the same habits. If a family adopts a healthy lifestyle, then their children are at a lower risk of developing obesity. Instilling healthy habits is something that starts in the home; it is a necessary action to change the direction of the rate of obesity and begin to transform the United States into a role model for healthy living
