Looking as “almost impossible goal”, I started this path when I was 17 years old. Medicine, a dreaded and admired profession. A job that requires uniquely indescribable qualities and skills. A responsibility that involves sacrifices. I 'm so pleased to say that Venezuela trains one of the most talented physicians who after studying hard for tests are exposed to knowledge through daily, direct contact with patients and their diseases. As a developing country, we don’t count on the best technology and resources but our clinical knowledge is solid and I’ll be always thankful for that. On the other hand, I didn 't want to start the pediatrics rotation, because I had to face 2 different type of patients, the little sick kids and their parents, which I cannot deny scared me and made me feel anxious. It 's challenging to perform a good physical exam on a weepy restless kid and besides to satisfied his parents expectation. However, I conquered this fear after spending so many long hours in the inpatient service presenting complicated clinical cases to the demanding attendings. 3 months later of being every day even weekends from 7 am to 5 pm something magical torn my thoughts. Despite going every day to the same place and deal with the same type of patient I was happy. I felt productive and didn 't care about feeling tired. Something I couldn’t imagine happened[ I felt in love with Pediatrics at my 22 years of age. In the beginning, it was hard to get used to the cryness, hyperactivity and even to the most boisterous temper tantrums. But only the fact of listening to all those funny crazy adventures and stories full of imagination and action, it is worth the effort. In a child 's world, there 's no space for problems, suffering or sickness. They don 't want to be sick and trapped in the walls of a hospital. However with their magic smiles while playing they make this sad place full of joy and colors. No matter the circumstances their ability to make life easier is priceless. I deeply admire their innocence, honesty, and persuasiveness. Now I consider them the best patients in whose hands is our future as a
